Shakespeare in Love is a story about the greatest writer, William Shakespeare. When he moves to London and performed his plays, he had many difficulties to perform his plays. He met a beautiful lady Viola and they fell in love at first sight.

I love this history film, so enjoy so much this film. Watching the film was helpful for me when I was in Stratford-Upon-Avon and understood him in real. My faviourte scene of the film is about performing play the Romeo and Juliet. Through this scene, I can feel performers’ feeling and see the backstage and how the play works. Above all, their pure lover cannot be together at last. It is very sad and beautiful.

West Side Story (1961) is based on a William Shakespeare’s play which is called Romeo and Juliet.
It is a story about an American boy, Tony, falls in love with a Puerto Rican girl, Maria. They have a conflict to have the power in the West Side in New York.

I love to watch the film in ways of directors screen methods. In the first of scene, he uses the red colour and only music with flat image to increase viewers interest into the film. And the technique of singing makes me as if I were in the theatre. My favourite scene is the wedding part of Tony and Maria. They look bright and lovely, and I feel I want to marry ,too. This film is difficult for me to understand how the director uses screen tools ,but it is deserve to watch and enjoy the whole time of the film.

Romeo +Juliet Essay

Are They Truly Happy for Their Choice?

The film Romeo + Juliet (1996) is a love story of a young couple who have a family conflict. The director makes this original play Romeo and Juliet in modern ways. Marriage has been important from the past until now. It is the same with the young couple in Verona though they fell in love at the first sight. I want to talk about a symbol for their marriage of love and tragedy.

Marriage is a symbol for love. At the party of Capulet, they fall in love at first sight, and that night, they swear their true love for god’s words even though their love is difficult and fragile. Music also represents for happiness and love with gentle, sweet music. At the scene of swear of their love in the pool at Capulet’s, the director uses sweet music to develop their feeling of love. In another scene of marriage in the church, a choir implies for true love using lyrics. A wedding costume also implies their true love using a white wedding dress and loads of candles. Love can overcome everything and cannot break true love. Juliet forgives Romeo’s murder of Tybalt and show the greatness of love.

Marriage is a symbol for a tragedy. Their marriage is a tragedy because of Romeo’s immature behaviour. Protecting their love, they finish their lives by taking a poison and using a gun. Setting by loads of the cross in the church seems to be in the cemetery, so it implies they are in the place of death. Also using music like a requiem emphasises their broken marriage by death.

Marriage is the most precious thing in your life, but it could be a tragedy at the same time. Marriage presents everything that people can feel all like happiness, sadness, angriness, and so on. Their love is immature and fragile, so they are finally dead for love. However, the passion of love is the strongest to protect and show the love they have. In this film, marriage is not always happy. You sometimes have to go through the dificulties and conflicts in your life. However, marriage is virtuous. You can make a happy life with your love.

Romeo + Juliet Review

Romeo + Juliet

28.12.1996(South Korea)
120 min- Crime, Drama, and Romance
Director: Baz Luhrmann
Writers: William Shakespeare(play), Baz Luhrmann(Screenplay), Craig Pearce(screenplay)
Stars: Leonardo DiCaprio(Romeo), Claire Danes(Juliet), John Leguizamo(Tybalt), Harold Perrineau(Mercutio), Pete Postlethwaite(Father Laurence)

Romeo + Juliet is based on a William Shakespeare's play which is called Romeo and Juliet. There is a conflict between Motague and Capulet in modern Verona, Italy. A young couple finally dies for their pure love.

The film makes me to be absorbed to watch it than the original play because the background of film is modern society where I live now and an actor who is Leonardo DiCaprio. They use guns so make intensive tensions between two family's conflict. It also uses slow motions about their fight, so viewers can feel more thrilled and suspence. Music are really perfect every single scene. It helps to understand better with dialogues. My favourite scene is Mercutio's death. When he is upset and fights for Romeo and gets injured by Tyblat, He talks himself. At this situation, the weather is suddenly changed to be tough and rainning as he's mood has been changed. I love the way to express the feeling with screen and music. It's impressive to not to forget this scene.

‘She’s the Man’ is mostly similar a play called The Twelfth Night by William Shakespeare. It is that a twins are separated when ship wrecks in somewhere Italy. Viola works as a servant in palace of the Duke and meets Olivia. Olivia falls in love with Viola, but she disguised as a man and has a feeling toward the Duke. Finally every single secret is revealed and they get married both of them.
A flim, She’s the Man, is that Sebastian flies away to London for a couple weeks, so Viola goes to his boarding school instead of him. She disguises and joins the school football team. She has been growing a feeling toward Duke, and finally she reveals her secret and they get together at last. After watching this, I am so excited that Viola reveals her secret and debuts to social club with Duke. I like the setting where takes place at school because it is possible to experience American school culture indirectly. Ideas that living as a man, and woman likes man’s sports attaches my attention to enjoy the film.

The therapist helps the king to overcome his youth trauma and can be developed to give speechs himself. Finally, he overcomes his problem and become a great king.
